Jamaica Run is a 1953 classic Hollywood tale of sunken ships and family fights in an exotic Jamaican locale. Promoter William Montague (Patric Knowles) has found the perfect location for his island resort hotel, the Dacey estate. The widow Dacey (Carroll McComas) and her children, Ena (Arlene Dahl) and Todd (Wendell Corey) decline his offer. The determined Montague refuses to take no for an answer and presents distant relatives, Janice and Robert Clayton, as the rightful heirs to the property. Soon skipper Patrick Fairlie (Ray Milland) is pulled into the family feud, when he is hired to salvage a ship off the shore. Legend has it that within the wreckage, the sole document determining ownership of the estate can be found. While searching for the answer, he also falls in love with the beautiful Ena. Directed by Lewis R. Foster, this suspense drama keeps a quick pace, with sparkling dialogue and many twists and turns.
