Jamie Foxx Presents: America's Funniest Comics is the first in a series of three stand-up comedy videos produced by Universal Studios and directed by Jamie Foxx. The movie was recorded at Atlanta, Georgia's largest comedy event, the Laffapalooza Comedy and Arts Festival, in 2003, and it was released to DVD in 2007. The comic film features routines by amateur comics, hand-picked by Jamie Foxx for the event. These comic artists, though virtually unknown, put an entirely new spin on observational comedy, deliver hilarious punch lines from never-before-heard scenarios. Featured stand-up comedians include: David Arnold, Louie Katz, Esau McGraw, Spanky Hayes, Tony Scofield and Willy Bearcena. Cedric the Entertainer serves as evenings host, announcing each act and cracking a few jokes of his own. Despite lending his name, and signature taste for comedy, to the project, Jamie Foxx never appears on stage in person. This film has not been rated and parental discretion is advised.
