Jazz Legends: Chuck Mangione is a live musical performance filmed in 1989 at the Palais Des Festivals Hall in Cannes, France. It stars legendary jazz musician Chuck Mangione, an internationally successful American flugelhorn player who gained success as a solo artist in the 1970s after leaving Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. In this film, Mangione is backed by a band of five great musicians, with Gordon Johnson on bass, Mark Manetta on guitar, Joe Bonadio on drums, Billy Martin on percussion, and Rob Mathes on guitar, keyboard, and singing vocals. Mangione and the band perform many different hit jazz numbers, including "Chase the Clouds Away," "Hot Consuelo," "Land of Make Believe," "Once Upon a Love Time," "Hide & Seek," "She's Gone," and the wildly popular "Feels So Good." With its clear, crisp sound and panning shots of the Grammy-nominated musician as he blows his flugelhorn, this is one film that fans of jazz music should definitely add to their collections.moreless
