Jeepers Creepers is the intimate horror sensation from writer-director Victor Salva (Clownhouse, Powder, Peaceful Warrior). Two siblings, Trish (Gina Phillips) and Darry (Justin Long, Dodgeball, Drag Me to Hell) are driving home on break from college when they are subjected to a fierce bit of road rage from a sinister looking truck and nearly turned into crosses on the side of the road. Sometime later, passing an old church, the duo sport the offending truck and its driver tossing a suspicious bundle down an old sewer pipe. The driver spots them spotting him and gives chase and when they outrun him yet again, instead of moving on, they opt to go back and find out what the nature of the bundle was. And what they discover sets off a ghoulish series of events where the two are further pursued by an attacker that turns out to be a monstrous creature that eats people's parts whenever it needs spares on an ancient cycle of slumber and revival.moreless

Metacritic Score

  • 80

    Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas

As stylish as it is grisly, Jeepers Creepers has cult film written all over it, and it's not for nothing that Francis Ford Coppola has been a staunch Victor Salva mentor.

  • 40

The New York Times Stephen Holden

Works up a reasonably delicious tingle.

  • 40

    Variety Scott Foundas

Emerges as the most conventional and least imaginative of the recent crop of high-class fright movies that includes "The Others," "Session 9" and "Wendigo."
