Jennifer is a mystery from 1953, directed by Joel Newton. Agnes Langley (Ida Lupino) is a newly hired live-in caretaker, at a sprawling California mansion. The mansion is eerie and empty because the previous caretaker Jennifer has mysteriously disappeared. Agnes is a little disturbed about the creepiness of the mansion but happy to have the job, so puts it out of her mind. Jim Hollis (Howard Duff) is the local man responsible for the financial affairs at the mansion. Agnes and Jim become involved, but the more she knows about Jim, and the more she learns about Jennifer's disappearance, the more obsessed she becomes about finding out what happened to Jennifer, and if Jim was involved. The musical score of Ernest Gold and cinematography of James Wong Howe add to the film's suspense. Jennifer will keep you on the edge of your seat and may even make you jump out of your seat.
