Released:
1992
Rating:
R

Jennifer Eight follows burnt-out LA cop John Berlin (Andy Garcia) as he moves to rural California for peace and quiet. His new job on the Eureka police force is anything but quiet and restful. New colleague John K. Taylor (Graham Beckel) was passed over for promotion so that the department could hire Berlin. Berlin has an even harder time making friends when a severed hand is discovered at the local dump. Berlin thinks it's connected to an unsolved murder of an unknown woman nicknamed "Jennifer." The severed hand discovered has scratches that indicate the victim read Braille and that the victim was likely blind, as was Jennifer. Chief Citrine (Kevin Conway) doesn't believe a serial killer is working in his town but Berlin uses his contacts at the LAPD to find six women, most of them blind, have either been found dead or are still missing in the rural outskirts of San Diego. Berlin thinks "Jennifer" was the seventh victim and the hand belongs to Jennifer Eight. The key to the case may lie with Helena (Uma Thurman), a blind woman living in Eureka. Bruce Robinson directed the 1992 crime drama.
