Jerome is a 1998 dark comedy written and directed by David Elton. Wade Hampton (Drew Pillsbury) decides to quit the dead-end job he has held for 15 years. Looking for a new life, he leaves town in a stolen car and ditches his wife and young son. Wade hopes the open road will lead him to adventure. His ultimate dream is to travel to Jerome, Arizona, to live in a small artist community and become a sculptor. Wade only knows of Jerome from an old picture postcard he's kept. As Wade drives through the desolate Arizona desert, he picks up Jane (Wendie Malick) for company. Jane has no destination and is down on her luck. Wade's dream to become a sculptor is so etched in his mind that he barely considers his actions. When things begin to spin out of control with Jane, Wade is forced to confront the choices he's made and face the harsh reality of his actions.moreless
