Jesse Stone: Death in Paradise is a 2006 television film based on the novel by Robert B. Parker. It was directed by Robert Harmon and stars Tom Selleck. Selleck plays the titular Jesse Stone, a police chief in the small New England town of Paradise, Massachusetts. One day a dead teenage girl is found floating in the local lake. Stone begins to investigate this mysterious murder and finds out that the girl had once been a straight A student before loosing her way. Shockingly, the dead girl's estranged parents hadn't even reported that she was missing. The strange case consumed Jesse Stone and takes him to Boston, where his investigations raise the ire of the Boston Mob. On top of this Stone is investigating a case involving a battered wife that is turning deadly. Stone is also struggling with his awful love life, ex wife and alcohol problems. Can Stone survive all his own problems to solve these important cases?
