Jimmy Zip is the nickname given to young Jimmy (Brendan Fletcher) by his abusive foster father (Ike Gingrich). Young Jimmy is a pyromaniac who quickly runs away from his unwanted home life and seeks sanctuary among a group of fellow runaways in Hollywood, California. Shelia (Adrienne Frantz) and Snake (Sia) are two street-smart urchins showing Jimmy the ropes of survival when Rick (Chris Mulkey), a pimp and drug dealer, recruits Jimmy into his drug network. On a routine job for Rick, Jimmy encounters Horace (Robert Gossett), a Tourette's suffering homeless man. In an unfortunate conflict between the two, Horace ends up with Jimmy's jacket and $20,000 of Rick's drug money inside. Once he realizes the mistake Jimmy desperately tries to find Horace before Rick ends up killing him, but in the process Rick turns upon Jimmy. As the tables turn, Horace actually ends up coming to Jimmy's rescue and the two forge an unlikely bond. Envisioning a means of creatively using the ill-gotten goods to repay Rick and embrace a new lifestyle, the two embark on a quest to create a fresh start from bad beginnings.moreless
