John Wooden - Values; Victory and Peace of Mind is an educational documentary from a former college basketball coach, who teaches viewers how to win at life. John Wooden brings cameras into his studio to teach audiences his Pyramid of Success theory, a method he used while winning ten NCAA Championships while head coach of UCLA. John opens the film by introducing himself and his accomplishments as both a trainer and educator. He then jumps right in, showing viewers how to construct a daily guide designed to give confidence and success to any person. After defining success and teaching people how to redefine their own, John explains the concepts of "Industriousness" and "Enthusiasm." The coach then gives his thoughts on "Loyalty" and "Self-Control," before jumping into a short biography of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's success both on and off the court. John also spends some time on his theory of "Alertness" and "Skill," and he ends the film by explaining the definitions of "Competitive Greatness." John's other philosophies and ideas show up throughout the documentary, which includes guest interviews from basketball greats, Phil Jackson and Bill Walton.moreless
