Johnny Appleweed is a 2008 comedy written and directed by Johnny Cotugno. Johnny Wagner (Johnny Cotugno) is a marijuana-smoking student at a ceramics school who is on probation for drug possession. While running away from a drug test administered by his probation officer Mrs. Stone (Martine Jean), Johnny accidentally pedals his bike off of a cliff and passes out. While he is unconscious, he has a vision of Johnny Appleseed, the American pioneer who became a legend for planting apple seeds in Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. After he learns that he is Appleseed's chosen successor, Johnny decides to plant marijuana seeds across the United States. With the help of his artistic friend Rain (Tami Reynolds) and her brother Joe (B.J. Thorne), Johnny heads out on his epic quest. Along the way, he films his journey and attempts to evade the clutches of the police, who are trying to arrest him for evading his drug test.
