Johnny Dangerously is a 1984 comedy directed by Amy Heckerling. After crime lord Jocko Dundee (Peter Boyle) sees young Johnny Kelley (Michael Keaton) win a fight against Danny Vermin (Joe Piscopo), he invites the boy to join his gang. Since Johnny needs to earn money to pay for his sick mother's medicine and his brother Tommy's (Griffin Dunne) education, he joins the gang without their knowledge. As he delves into the criminal lifestyle, he gives himself the secret nickname "Johnny Dangerously." Johnny soon finds himself in conflicts with rival crime lord Roman Troy Moronie (Richard Dimitri) and Danny, who has also become a member of Jocko's gang. In addition, he struggles to hide his criminal activities from his brother, who begins to work for the district attorney's office after graduating from law school. When Johnny suddenly decides to quit Jocko's gang and live a normal life, he suddenly finds himself facing even more unexpected dangers.
