Johnny Mnemonic is the movie adaptation of William Gibson's short story about Johnny Mnemonic (Keanu Reeves), a man with a cybernetic brain implant used for storing and transporting sensitive data. Johnny is a data trafficker, a courier of data too sensitive for computer networks. He accepts a risky package that is too large for his implant, and will kill him if it isn't removed in time. Things quickly escalate as Johnny realizes the package is more important than he realized, and he must fight to remove the data while running from the nefarious owners of the data who are out for his life. A group of cyberthugs including J-Bone (Ice-T) and Spider (Henry Rollins) are also out for the data that could hold a valuable secret.
