Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie is a 2002 animated movie featuring the much-loved quirky VeggieTales characters. The story starts off with Bob the tomato (voiced by Phil Vischer) and his friends on their way to a concert. When their car breaks down, Bob and the gang are forced to take shelter in a nearby seafood restaurant where they meet the "Pirates Who Don't Do Anything". Trouble starts brewing within the group when Junior Asparagus (voiced by Lisa Vischer) blames Laura Carrot (Voiced by Kristin Blegen) for making them miss the concert. The pirates then try to teach them compassion and share a story about a man Jonah (also voiced by Phil Vischer) who gets swallowed by a whale and lives to tell the (veggie) tale. The movie is shown in two segments where the first part follows Bob the tomato and the second is the story of Jonah. As with any VeggieTales movie, this one comes with a moral. The Veggies learn about love, compassion, and mercy in this retelling of the well-known Bible story "Jonah and the whale".moreless
