Journey to Survival is the documentary where instructor Tom Brown Jr. shows students how to survive in the wilderness. Tom Brown Jr. is a naturalist, and wilderness tracker who has written many books on the subjects, including Field Guides. In his childhood he was instructed on tracking and spiritual philosophy by an Lipan Apache elder named Stalking Wolf, and he takes his teachings to heart in his writings. When Stalking Wolf died when Brown was 17, he spent the next ten years living in America's wilderness. He worked on the skills he learned, using few manufactured tools. When he returned, he started working as a tracker, locating lost persons, fugitives and more. He opened a school, Tom Brown's Tracking, Nature and Wilderness Survival School in New Jersey, and now he is taking 50 students into the wild of the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, to show them the ropes and how to survive on only their wits and things they find in nature.
