Journey to the Far Side of the Sun is a 1969 science fiction film directed by Robert Parrish. Top scientists have recently discovered an unknown planet that is orbiting on the exact opposite side of the sun than the Earth. The European Space Exploration Council decides to send Col. Glenn Ross (Roy Thinnes), a well-known American astronaut, and John Kane (Ian Hendry), a British astrophysicist, to investigate. The council knows that the space flight aboard the Phoenix is supposed to take the pair at least six weeks, but they are shocked when they return after only three weeks. Their space craft crash lands on Earth, killing Kane instantly and wounding Ross. Jason Webb (Patrick Wymark), the leader of the space agency, accuses Ross of intentionally sabotaging the mission, but Ross soon finds that things are not what they seem. This thrilling film has a surprise twist ending that will make lovers of science fiction rush to watch it a second time.moreless
