Judgment Day is a 1999 science fiction action thriller directed by John Terlesky. The film went direct to video. A giant meteor is going to destroy the Earth. The united states military has crafted a plan to destroy the meteor using a high powered weapon. However the only person able to operate the weapon has been kidnapped by a religious fanatic known as Thomas Payne (played by Mario Van Peebles). Now it is up to Matthew Reese, a convict (played by Ice-T), who has an old score with the FBI to settle, to go and find Payne before the end of the world. This film is a cheesy low budget knock off of Armageddon and films of that sort. It's a pretty bad film, truth be told. But then again, what do you expect from a sci fi film with Mario Van Peebles?
