Just Around the Corner is a musical film starring Shirley Temple, Charles Farrell, Joan Davis, Bill Robinson, and Claude Gillingwater. The film was directed by Irving Cummings and produced by Darryl F. Zanuck. Just Around the Corner revolves around the lives of an architect named Jeff Hale (Charles Farrell) and his daughter Penny Hale (Shirley Temple). The film depicts the problems that Penny and Jeff endure when he loses his job as an architect and is forced to find employment as a janitor. The film was the fourth and last time that Shirley Temple and Bill Robinson would work together. Just Around the Corner is based on the novel by the same title written by Paul Girard Smith. The screenplay was adapted from the novel by Ethel Hill, Darrell Ware, and J.P. McEvoy, Harold Spina provided the music for the picture. The film was released on November 11, 1938, and distributed by 20th Century Fox.
