Just Friends is a 2005 romantic comedy about trying to finally win over that high school crush. Obese Chris Brander (Ryan Reynolds) has been best friends with Jamie Palamino (Amy Smart) throughout high school. Unfortunately, he chooses to finally declare his love at a graduation party, which leads to a humiliating incident. He vows that he will one day be more successful than all of them. Ten years later, he is a trim and handsome music manager escorting pop sensation, Samantha James (Anna Faris) to Paris. When a plane malfunction forces a landing near his New Jersey hometown, they decide to spend the night at his parents' nearby house. At a local bar, Chris and Samantha run into Jamie working as a bartender to pay her way through graduate school. Chris sees the chance meeting as an opportunity for revenge, but Dusty Dinkleman (Chris Klein), another high school loser, has his own vindictive plans for Jamie.
