Just Like the Son is a 2006 drama directed by Morgan J. Freeman. Daniel Carter (Mark Webber) is only 20 years old, but he has already been in plenty of trouble. After commiting several petty crimes, Daniel finally winds up having to carry out community service. He is assigned to a grade school, completing janitorial duties and occasionally interacting with the kids. Daniel is anything but enthusiastic and counts down the hours until he is free again. As he cleans up graffiti and reads books aloud, however, Daniel starts to slowly form a friendship with one student in particular. Six-year-old Boone (Antonio Ortiz) is smart and friendly, but he always seems a little lonely. Soon Daniel discovers that the boy is an orphan, and his only remaining relative, his sister Charlotte (Roxanne Fox), lives far away. When Boone is unexpectedly placed in foster care, Daniel realizes how much he misses his friend and decides to go on a quest to reunite Boone and Charlotte.moreless
