Just My Luck is the 1957 British comedy that takes love to the races. Norman Hackett (Norman Wisdom) is dead set on buying the beautiful necklace for the beautiful love of his life, Anne (Jill Dixon). As a jewelry store clerk, he has the chance to fondle the necklace daily, he just can't take it home for his intended purpose. So he hatches a plan. Norman takes his life savings to the races and bets it all on a string of long-shot horses. Much to his surprise, he wins big. One after another, he begins to rack up a fortune, and it looks like he will be able to buy the gift for his love. However, the oily bookie starts to realize how much he's going to lose, and it looks like he's going to shirk on his debt. Now Norman is in a pickle, as a simple daily clerk enters the crazy world of gambling and pursuing the unreliable bookie.moreless
