Karzan, Jungle Lord is a monster movie, and spoof of Tarzan, that was released in 1972. After watching a documentary about a man who lives like an ape in the Jungle, Lord Carter (Roger Browne) and Captain Fox (Ettore Manni), two wealthy European men, decide to plan an expedition to the wilds of Africa. They agree that not only would the discovery of an ape-man make them both great men of science, it would be interesting to investigate whether or not he truly exists and how he came to be. The two men hire Crazy Matthew (Attilio Severini) to lead their hunting party. Crazy is a silent man, made strange by the torture he suffered as a child. The hunting party boats, drives and walks across Africa looking for any sign of Karzan, the Jungle Lord (Johnny Kissmuller Jr.). They battle wild animals, and experience misfortune as they travel, losing faith in the mission and believing they may never see the ape-man. After catching a brief glimpse of Karzan they are reinvigorated in their search and go on a wild adventure in pursuit of the Jungle Lord.moreless
