Kathy and Mo: Parallel Lives is the wickedly funny brainchild of its stars and creators, Kathy Najimy and Mo Gaffney. In this cable adaptation of their award-winning off-Broadway special, Najimy and Gaffney put forth a wide variety of sketch comedy dealing with the ever evolving role of women in society. Tackling everything from women's studies and West Side Story to the unimaginable horror of getting dressed for work, Kathy and Mo's particular brand of gentle satire plays havoc with gender stereotypes. From an angelic explanation of why women get to give birth to a vivid imagining of what might happen if there was menstruation occurring in the men's locker room, the light-hearted feminism of Kathy and Mo makes sport of convention wherever it can as the duo marches from adolescence on through midlife crisis and their later years. This HBO presentation of a late Eighties classic is not to be missed.
