Kazaam is a 1996 fantasy comedy directed by Paul Michael Glaser. In the film, Maxwell "Max" Connor (Frances Capra) is a streetwise 12-year-old who is trying to avoid getting involved with the gangs in his neighborhood. When the gang tries to make Max participate in a robbery, Max outsmarts them. The gang eventually figures out what Max has done and they are angry. The goons corner Max in a bad neighborhood and the 12-year-old takes off. He attempts to hide out in an abandoned warehouse. While in the warehouse, Max finds an old abandoned boombox. The portable stereo contains a genie named Kazaam (Shaquille O'Neal). Kazaam is a 3,000-year-old genie who has been locked up for 1,000 years. Kazaam is enjoying his new freedom, but to stay free he must successfully grant three wishes to the person who freed him, Max. Max does not hesitate to make his wishes, but will Kazaam be able to grant them?
