Keane is a drama that was released in 2004. The story of William Keane (Damien Lewis) takes place in New York City, where the thirty-something father searches in vain for his daughter, Sophia. The initial setting is in the Port Authority bus terminal, the site of the young girl's abduction several months earlier. A clearly mentally ill Keane, with a newspaper abduction story in hand, accosts ticket agents and travelers asking everyone he encounters if they've seen his daughter. Without luck, Keane wanders the streets, making his way back to the cheap hotel he calls home. There he meets and befriends Lynn Bedik (Amy Ryan) and bonds with her daughter Kira (Abigail Breslin), a young girl close to his own lost child's age. Can Kira help Keane heal and deal with his daughter's disappearance, or does meeting her bring him to the realization that his child's very existence was only a schizophrenia-induced illusion?
