Kelly's Heroes is a 1970's comedy war film based in France during World War II and directed by Brian G. Hutton. In the film, recently demoted Private Kelly (Clint Eastwood) has found himself angry and depressed because of the injustice carried out against him. When Kelly captures a war prisoner with a gold bar in his pocket, he decides to bend the rules a bit to find out where this gold came from. His decision pays off and Kelly learns about a hidden treasure. Kelly sees this as an opportunity to seek some revenge on his employer, the U.S. Government, and get rich by keeping the treasure for himself. The only problem with the scenario is Pvt. Kelly is in the middle of a war zone and the treasure is not on friendly territory. To carry out this mission he will have to disobey rules and rely on his motley crew of misfits to secure the treasure without getting caught.
