  • TRIVIA (1)

    • This was a very loose adaptation of the verse play by Maxwell Anderson, which had been a critical success (and a modest box-office hit) on Broadway in 1939. John Huston claimed to dislike the play very much and made this film on the understanding that he would alter it a great deal. Paul Muni and Jose Ferrer had starred in the play.
