Kidco is a 1984 family friendly comedy directed by Ronald F. Maxwell. Based on a true story, Kidco follows the adventures of Dickie (Scott Schwartz) and his siblings and friends as they start a small business and fight to keep it alive in southern California. Dickie is an inventive young man whose friends join him in a quest to earn money. They work together selling excess manure from Dickie's ranch as fertilizer to people in their small community. They are so successful in their venture that an adult competitor and the city council work together to shut down the fertilizer business. Dickie and his friends are taken to court where they refuse to use an attorney and decide to represent themselves. What happens next will surprise the adults in town and will motivate children everywhere to stand up for themselves and show the world that even young kids can make a difference.
