Killer Diller is a 2004 drama directed by Tricia Brock and based on the critically acclaimed novel of the same name by Clyde Edgeton. When guitarist and car thief Wesley Benfied (William Lee Scott) is caught violating his parole yet again, he is forced to head to North Carolina to live in a halfway house. Surrounded by other criminals, Wesley is in complete despair until he realizes Ned Sears (Fred Willard), the man running the halfway house, has formed a hymn singing band with some of the residents that show a bit of musical talent. Something about Ned's band finally interests Wesley. When he meets Vernon (Lucas Black), a blues-playing piano savant they decide to form a band with a hesitant group of ex-cons and call themselves the Killer Diller Blues Band. Will music and friendship be enough to turn this wayward group around? Music in Killer Diller features the Grammy winning Keb' Mo' and Taj Mahal.
