Kings and Queen is a French film directed by Anruad Desplechin which tells the story of a woman and the people whose lives hers intersects with. We join Nora Cotterelle (Emmanuelle Devos), a thirty-something woman who is tasked with taking care of her ill father, Louis Jenssens (Maurice Garrel). She tries her best to act like her life is okay, but being a single mom with two divorces is tough. She is professionally successful and has a new relationship that is going well, but her son is becoming more withdrawn after his father died. The story also follows a parallel storyline of her ex-husband Ismael (Mathieu Amalric), a musician who has been committed to a mental hospital mistakenly. The comedy of Ismael's life in the asylum plays counterpoint to Nora's difficulties as she learns that her ill father is much worse off than she thought. Join in these two stories in Kings and Queen.
