Kinky Boots is a 2005 comedy about an English shoemaker who makes the difficult decision to make fetish footwear in order to save his dying business. After inheriting a failing shoe business from his family, small-town boy Charlie Price (Joel Edgerton) decides to travel to London to try and figure out a way to save the business. Since much of the town depends on the shoe factory for work, Charlie is desperate to make it succeed. While in London, he meets a brash drag queen named Lola (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who suggests to Charlie that he begin selling shoes designed for female impersonators. Though Charlie is sure that the idea will fail, he has few other options and decides to give it a try. Surprisingly, the new idea takes off, but Charlie and Lola face a huge challenge when everything that can go wrong does go wrong on the eve of the prestigious Milan Shoe Fair.
