Kira's Reason: A Love Story is a foreign dramatic film from First Run Features that was written by Ole Christian Madsen and Mogens Rukov and directed by Madsen. This award winning film is a Danish language film set in Scandinavia. Kira (Stine Stengade) and Mads (Lars Mikkelsen) are a happily married couple with two loving children who have a beautiful home and seemingly have it all. That is until Kira suffers a breakdown and is forced to spend two years away from her family and spend time in a mental institution. She loses everything while in the institution but gains it all back when she returns home, at least that was the plan. When she returns home to her family, it is quickly evident that things are not back to the way they were. She has not completely recovered and her family has grown without her. She makes a brave attempt to resume a normal life but finds it difficult when her recurring problems continually surface and she becomes insecure when she believes that Mads is having an affair behind her back.moreless
