2000

Kitchen Privileges is not your normal type of suspense thriller. Mari Kornhauser directs this film and adds a twist of bizarre romance along with big-screen horror. Marie (Katharina Wressnig) becomes psychologically traumatized after being raped. Agoraphobia eventually follows and she socially detaches from society, never leaving her house. However, she soon finds that she must take on a roommate after her money starts running out. Later on, it seems that she finds the perfect tenant, Tom (Peter Sarsgaard), a handsome, nice, young gentleman. Tom was a former oil rig cook, and he starts to mesmerize Marie with his mysterious well prepared "meat" dishes. Little by little, Marie starts to regain her confidence and feels that things in her life are returning to normal. Soon after, she becomes curious and tries to discover Tom's secrets. During her inquiries, she begins to suspect that Tom is the psycho responsible for a series of recent murders happening in L.A, where the assassin leaves disfigured female bodies along the highway. When Marie's sister unexpectedly arrives, Tom begins to show interest in her. Both jealous and suspicious, Marie's paranoia slowly begins to return.moreless
