Klepto is a 2003 independent thriller. Emily Brown (Meredith Bishop) is trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life, such as developing her art into a career. Dealing with her mother, Teresa (Leigh Taylor-Young), and her therapist, Dr. Cohn (Michael Nouri), Emily is filled with anxiety and addicted to pills. She finds shoplifting helps to make her feel better. Her skill as a thief is noticed by Nick (Jsu Garcia), head of security at Emily's favorite department store. Nick hopes to open his own business, but the get-rich-quick scheme he was banking on to get the seed money backfires and leaves him in debt to a Russian gangster (Henry Czerny). Nick, who has become fascinated with Emily as he's watched her pocket goods through the security camera, blackmails her into going out with him. The two develop a relationship and decide to team up on a raid of the store after Nick is fired. Thomas Trail directed the film.moreless
