Knock on Wood is a comedy film that focuses on Jerry Morgan (Danny Kaye), a ventriloquist touring Europe. Jerry's life is incredibly hectic, mainly due to the fact that he cannot control the words that come out of his dummy's mouth. His dummy even spoils his love life, saying things to turn women away. Jerry's best friend Marty Brown (David Burns) sees that he is nearing a nervous breakdown, so he convinces him to see psychologist Dr. Ilse Nordstrom (Mai Zetterling). Before he is due to see the doctor, Jerry goes to a repair shop to pick up one of his dummies. What he soon figures out is that the dummy has been inserted with blueprints that relate to a robbery, causing Jerry to become a suspect in a murder. Jerry dresses up in numerous disguises to evade the police and criminals that seek the blueprints. Watch Knock on Wood to find out if Jerry is able to clear his name.
