Kuffs follows the story of a reckless and irresponsible young man who accidentally inherits a team of mercenaries. George Kuffs is a 21-year-old going nowhere. He's dropped out of high school and now his girlfriend is pregnant. Thinking she would be better off without him, he walks out on her too. His only plan for the future is to move to Brazil and pursue the gold rush that he's heard is going on there. He goes to his brother, Brad (Bruce Boxleitner), and begs him for a loan that will get the project started. Brad has been running a team of self-employed auxiliary police who have made some powerful enemies. When George comes to visit, Brad is killed in a deal gone wrong. Now George finds himself heir to the position of leader of the misfit band of soldier at exactly the moment that he most wants revenge. It's up to him to convince them that he can handle the job. In the process, George opens up a case that closed with Brad's death, one that involved $50 million in stolen artwork. It may be this case that leads George to his brother's killer and to his fortunes, but not without a fight.
