L.A. Story is a 1991 romantic comedy directed by Mick Jackson and written by Steve Martin, who also stars in this film that is equal parts satire and celebration of Los Angeles and the West Coast lifestyle, telling the story of a disillusioned TV meteorologist who sets out to find some meaning in his life in the City of Angels. Harris K. Telemacher (Martin) is tired of the monotony of his job and his loveless relationship with his girlfriend Trudi (Marilu Henner). One day, he meets a beautiful English journalist (Victoria Tennant) and begins obsessing over her. However, Trudi appears to be romantically unavailable, forcing Harris to look for salvation elsewhere. Frustrated by his situation, he tries dating a ditzy blonde woman named SanDeE (Sarah Jessica Parker), hoping to find some direction for his confusing love life. L.A. Story is a critically-acclaimed American comedy, featuring appearances by Kevin Pollack, Patrick Stewart, Chevy Chase, Woody Harrelson, Paula Abdul, Rick Moranis, and Martin Lawrence.
