L'amante Perduto, also known as The Lost Lover, is a 1999 Jewish romantic drama based on the classic novel by Abraham Yehoshua. It tells the story of a troubled relationship between a Jewish couple, Adam (Ciarán Hinds) and Asya (Juliet Aubrey), who move to Tel Aviv to reconstruct their lives after the tragic death of their four-year-old son in a car accident in London. Thirteen years later, their teenage daughter, Dafi (Clara Bryant), tries to figure out why her mother seems so detached and listless. The couple never told their daughter about what happened thirteen years ago. After all these years, nothing else binds the couple together except the respect that they have for one another. One day, a young and charismatic Israeli man, Gabriel (Stuart Buce), arrives in the lives of the couple, and touches Asya's heart in a way that she rediscovers love and life with the young man. However, Gabriel suddenly disappears and Asya becomes the same detached person again. Meanwhile, Adam who only wishes for her wife's happines is determined to look for her wife's lost lover.moreless
