Movie Summary

Director:
Christian McIntire
Released:
2002
Rating:
PG-13
Landspeed is a 2002 race car adventure that pits a father and son against the land speed record of 1,000 mph. Race car driver Michael Sanger (Billy Zane) is always ready for a challenge. When a 50 million dollar prize is offered for breaking the Mach 2 speed, he enters the international duel of "landspeeders" for the glory and the gold. There's only one guy that can make a car engine reach those numbers, so he brings his father, Brian (Ray Wise) to the remote desert raceway. As the different teams prepare for the contest, they enjoy the camaraderie of men at play: visiting strip clubs, going camping, and having scooter races. But it's all business and cut-throat competition when the desert race begins, and each of the men faces a fiery end if something goes wrong. Director Christian McIntire keeps the focus on the driving action and high stakes in this 2002 action thriller.
