Last Call is a comedy mystery written and directed by Cliff Van Cott, who puts a funny twist on crime in Las Vegas. The film opens with Vegas reporter Sarah McNeil (Chelsea Crews) returning home after accepting an award in Los Angeles. An informant tips her that a murderer is on the loose, which she confirms after visiting the crime scene of a homicide. The film then flashes back a few days before, where a local car thief, Chuck (Chris Hendricks), offers a ride to his girlfriend Gidget (Marcell Cartier) in his new stolen prize. The two check the trunk and find a half-million dollars worth of cocaine, adding kudos to the heist. Unfortunately, mob boss Carlos Mendoza (Ty Izquierdo) isn't so happy. Mendoza's men find Chuck and murder him, but not before his friends Dave (Albert Paul) Ronny (Ronald Prouty) and a shadowy woman (Lindsay Knight) hide the dope. Back in the present, Sarah hovers over Chuck's corpse and finds a calling card from an exotic dancer named Marlene. Meanwhile, Mendoza's goons kidnap Gidget and threaten to kill her if Chuck's friends don't return the drugs. The film comes full circle after Sarah meets Marlene (Knight), who happens to be a transvestite and one of Chuck's friends who hid the dope.moreless
