Late for Dinner is a comic, heartwarming film about two young men who are fleeing the authorities. In the process of trying to save their property from being repossessed by a vicious loan shark, they are wrongfully accused of a crime, and end up being cryogenically frozen in their run from the police. Willie (Brian Wimmer) is a man happily married, and Peter Berg plays his child-like, amusing brother-in-law. The two friends thaw out eventually and try to reclaim their lives, but everything has changed. A bewildered wife, Joy, (Marcia Gay Harden) struggles with accepting the sudden reappearance of her long-lost husband, and the capers and crises the two encounter along the way are a comedic and touching treat. Meanwhile, Joy's brother fights a chronic illness that will eventually take his life, but thirty years later, could there be a cure? A few decades can change almost everything, but Willie is determined to win his wife again and prove that their love is truly timeless.moreless
