Laura Lansing Slept Here is a made-for-television movie from 1988. Laura Lansing (Katherine Hepburn) is a wealthy, world-famous, and pampered novelist. Her novels are about people like herself: rich and powerful people in circumstances very different from everyday people. Laura's critics start calling her out of touch, and reject her most recent novel. Her friends and agent joke that she is out of touch and she wouldn't be able survive in the everyday world of most people. On a bet, Laura attempts to do just that. She packs her bags and moves in with a middle-class family. The Gomphers live in the suburban town of Hicksville. The family includes a husband, a wife, a loud and headstrong teenage girl, an annoyingly sarcastic boy and a toddler that cries a lot. Laura is used to being waited on hand and foot, and having things her own way, with the Gomphers she learns something different. From sharing a bathroom with five other people to connecting with a moody teenage girl, Laura Lansing learns the good and bad sides of everyday life.moreless
