Le Cercle Rouge (The Red Circle) is a French crime drama that films the thrilling ordeal of two convicts' lives on streets as they cope with the harsh reality of the real world. Mobster Corey (Alain Delon), finally got his parole and eagerly awaits his release from prison. He happily walks out of jail and enters his friend's car, eager to start his new life. Meanwhile, at the prison motor pool, detective Mattei (Bourvil) is so busy tending to his disobedient cat that he mistakenly allows his prisoner, Vogel (Gian-Maria Volonte), escape his custody. Vogel finds refuge in the trunk of Corey's car. He hides in a garage and sees that Corey is having trouble going straight. Vogel comes out of hiding and convinces Cory to do one last heist at a local jewelry store. An angry Mattei hears word on the street of the convict's plan. He forces club owner and fence, Santi (Fran''ois P''rier), to help him capture the thieves. When Corey and Vogel attempt to sell Santi their stolen goods, Mattei arrests them. He brings everyone down to police headquarters. It's now up to Police Chief Renan (Paul Amiot) to sort out the mess, which is not an easy task once he finds out that Mattei is also corrupt.moreless
