Le Choix Des Armes from French director Alain Corneau follows reformed thief Noel Durieux (Yves Montand) whose quiet life in the country is interrupted by two men who have escaped from prison, Mickey (G''rardDepardieu) and Serge Olivier (Pierre Forget). Serge was injured when he and Mickey were ambushed by a rival gang. Mickey takes him to Noel's farm for help but Serge wounds are fatal. Noel agrees to let Mickey stay at the farm and hide from the gang and from law enforcement, which has been searching for the two escaped convicts. When Mickey sees Noel talking with Inspectors Sarlat (G''rad Lanvin) and Bonnardot (Michel Galabru), he thinks the old thief has betrayed him. He seeks revenge and begins terrorizing Noel and his wife, Nicole (Catherine Deneuve). Noel is forced to turn to his old partners in crime for help defending his family against Mickey.
