Leap of Faith is a 1992 romantic drama directed by Richard Pearce. In the film, Reverand Jonas Nightingale (Steve Martin) is a fake faith healer who runs an unethical touring ministry. He and his manager, Jane Larson (Debra Winger) have a good operation and they are making a great deal of money. The key to their con is never staying in one place long enough for the locals to catch on. Unfortunately for them, their con and their livelihood is in jeopardy when the tour bus breaks down in the poverty-stricken town of Rustwater, Kansas. Jane and Jonas have to step up their con in order to continue fooling its residents. Jane tries to persuade the town's sheriff William Braverman (Liam Neeson) not to shut them down and Jonas works on the town skeptic, Marva (Lolita Davidovich). How long can the cons keep up their act when people start to get suspicious?
