  • Not Bad but Moves Too Fast

    7.0
This is a pretty decent film, but the plot moves really fast. The only settings we get are the forest, snowfall forest, and Darkness's fortress. We never even once get to see Princess Lily's kingdom. Also, as soon as Lilly is captured and sent to the Fortress, Darkness instantly falls in love with her and decides to make her his queen. Also at the beginning of the film, there is a woman who says she sees Lilly as a daughter. This lady is seen once more as a frozen corpse and then is never used again. Lilly makes no mention of her emotions over the woman's death afterwards.

Other than the really fast plot, this is a pretty good film and I see why it has a cult following. The makeup effects are AMAZING. Tim Curry looks like a very convincing demon, it's just impressive. The fantasy element is well done with unicorns being the protectors of Light and Darkness being the source of darkness. The theme of love is also well done.moreless
