Legend of the Red Dragon is a Hong Kong martial arts action film featuring Jet Li as Hung Hei-Kwun, an honorable Shaolin warrior whose entire village was destroyed by government raiders. After dealing with the traitorous Ma Ling-Yee (Chi Cheun-Hua), he and his martial arts-skilled son (Xie Miao) wander throughout China for years, protecting those who cannot fight for themselves in exchange for food and money. Later, the government finds out about five Shaolin pupils with pieces of a map tattooed on their backs. Together, the map leads to a vast treasure from the Ming Dynasty. The Shaolin monks hope to use the treasure to reestablish their temple, but with the government attempting to take it, the Shaolin monks disperse the boys from their temple in hopes of keeping the treasure safe. One of the boys' fathers, a swindling rich man, hires Hung and his son to protect the boys. However, not only are a conniving mother-daughter pair of thieves after the treasure map, but also a seemingly revived and deformed Ma Ling-Yee, who appears to work with the government. The inevitable conflict will lead to an epic showdown that was once thought settled years ago!moreless
