The film is based on mummy lore and takes place in Egypt. Queen Aneh-Tet (Lynx) was a scrupulous malevolent ruler who viciously slaughtered anyone that got in her way. The populace celebrated the day she died, and her body was cursed and buried in an undisclosed location. When a modern day team of archaeologists discovers her tomb, they inadvertently release her evil spirit into the world. Molly (Clonch), the team's top archaeologist, must then battle the evil queen head to head before she wreaks havoc throughout the world. If Molly fails, Aneh-Tet will have awoken her legion of mummies to do her evil bidding. Legion of the Dead was released during the time of the popular The Mummy film series in hopes of capitalizing on its success.
