Leprechaun is the 1993 cult horror hit that spawned a popular and undying fear franchise, jump started in this first film by creator-writer-director Mark Jones (Rumpelstiltskin, Quiet Kill). The titled character (Warwick Davis, Willow, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menance) gets his gold stolen from him in Ireland (big surprise) by a dim-witted American named Dan O'Grady (Shay Duffin, Raging Bull, Titanic, The Departed, Beowulf). Lep tries to kill O'Grady, but he lucks out (no pun intended) as he escapes and locks the little supernatural demon in his basement. Fast forward a few years as a man named J.D. Reding (John Sanderford, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) and his teenage daughter Tory (Jennifer Aniston, not quite a "Friend" yet, Rumor Has It, Office Space, Bruce Almighty) buy the old abandoned house and unleash the Leprechaun. Now he wants his gold and he does not mind killing others in gruesome ways until he gets his riches back.moreless
