Les Bonnes Femmes is a 1960 dramatic romance and mystery film directed by Claude Chabrol. The film is also known as The Good Time Girls. Four friends try to find satisfaction in their everyday lives, but each of the young women yearns for something better. Ginette (Stéphane Audran) works at a TV shop and does not get much fulfillment from her work. She has a secret: most nights, she can be found singing at a small local theater. Ginette's roommate and coworker, Jane (Bernadette Lafont), is a confident flirt who has no qualms about going home with men. Jacqueline (Clotilde Joano) is Jane's friend and works at the store. She is more old-fashioned than Jane, and although she enjoys going out to night clubs, she dreams of settling down with her one true love. Rita (Lucile Saint-Simon), the fourth employee at the shop, has found the love that Jacqueline longs for. She is engaged, and yet her relationship is unhappy. As the four young women go about their daily lives, they do not realize that tragedy is lurking out of sight.moreless
